Apple Cider Vinegar and MCT Oil C8

This is my routine that helps against hair loss:

1:5 ratio of Apple Cider Vinegar (Braggs) and MCT Oil C8 mixed in an eyedropper and applied topically to the scalp in regions affected by Male Pattern Baldness (So 1/5 of solution is ACV and 4/5 is MCT Oil). I apply this solution at night and wash it off the next morning with the help of shampoo.

I apply the solution to regions affected by MPB, which are usually inflamed with itchiness, dandruff, and seborrheic dermatitis. I believe the health of the scalp can affect MPB, and in particular the itchy feeling we get is an indicator that MPB/inflammation is occurring in that area. Whenever I apply this solution, I believe the Apple Cider Vinegar in particular helps alleviate most of the itchiness, and that helps with MPB. The MCT oil helps a bit with dandruff, but does not seem to relieve the "itch" as much as the ACV. I believe other oils can be used instead of MCT oil, such as castor or rosemary oil.

I've been doing this routine for about 2 weeks now and little hairs have sprouted on the front-middle of my hairline, though my temples have not seen many new hairs yet. I hope to see more progress in the future.

I should admit that the smell of the ACV applied to the scalp at night is disgusting, though it's a small price I'm willing to pay to help with MPB.

I do believe people who have applied ACV on their hair for only 5-30 minutes before a shower and haven't had much success may need to leave the ACV on their hair for longer. Perhaps their treatment needs to be more vigorous, whereas other people who only applied ACV for 20 minutes and had success didn't have too much an issue to begin with. Indeed, perhaps there is benefit to leaving ACV on the hair for as long as we can.

I wanted to create this thread to discuss the benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar on the scalp. I don't have much detailed knowledge of the biological interaction between the scalp and ACV, just my own experience and the limited search for people with similar experiences.

Here are other anecdotes discussing benefits of ACV on hair:

Forum member Elephanto posted a detailed protocol years ago which also included ACV. I think it started here:
I also applied ACV in the evening and kept in over night. It definitely helped with the itching but I did not have the stamina to do this long enough to see if it could improve the hair loss (wife was not a fan of the smell ;)).

Kombucha and msm is what I use now as a hair rinse. I think it has some acetic acid in it amongst other acids and doesn’t smell as strongly. Just started adding a drop of thyme oil it it as I think it’s pro hair. No results yet and pr ably won’t see any gains but it’s fun to try new things. One positive I’ve noticed is my scalp is less oily and my beard is soft

Do you have a hair itch, and do you think the kombucha + msm combination helps with that?

Lately I've been researching the effects of nitric oxide (NO), and it's my guess that ACV may boost nitric oxide on the scalp when applied topically. NO helps with vascular relaxation and blood flow, which certainly seems to be a plus for hair growth.

In addition to ACV, I've been focusing on breath meditation through the nose and humming to increase nitric oxide levels, and it definitely seems to help with stress levels since my body feels relaxed and pleasurable -

I believe the pleasurable sensations are the same as the ones felt in Jhana meditation -

Certainly the increased nitric oxide levels through breath meditation/humming play a role in fighting stress, which we can all agree is detrimental to hair.

Just a quick little update: what has really helped me was putting ACV on my scalp as long as possible throughout a 24 hour period, so after I take a morning shower I use ACV diluted with water and use a eyedropper on my scalp. It dries up pretty easily and it doesn't make my hair oily like with the MCT oil. The smell goes away after 1-2 hours so I still reap benefits without smelling like crap.

I've also noticed that taking B vitamins and steering away from pornography has helped to grow little hairs on my front hairline.

What are people’s thoughts on these, they all seem to have quite favourable reports with regards to scalp health/lowering inflammation:
- Piroctone olamine
- Selenium sulphide
- Zinc Pyrithione

EMF Mitigation - Flush Niacin - Big 5 Minerals
