Anyone Having Issues With The Threads Being Marked Read Properly?

Last night I started noticing that after I read a thread, it was still showing that I had not read it. Anyone else noticing this?

I disabled all extensions and also the cdn and it seems to have fixed the issue. Anyone still having it?

Working for me but I notice the Portal is missing.

Yes, I had to take down all the extensions which included the portal. Hoping Blossom and dd99 will chime back in soon.

If this resolves the problem. I will slowly start adding the extensions back in, and find out which one was causing the issue.

I noticed the Portal missing and then used quick links for unread posts and it was working fine at that time.

I wish, if I reply to some topic,
that it would automatically subscribe me to it so I get email notifications
if someone else replies to that topic.

I've lost track of a lot of threads because I forget to "subscribe" to a topic after replying.
Seems like if you reply to a topic,
95% or the time you'd want to receive an email notificiation.

Maybe there is some way I'm supposed to change my configurations or something geeky like that....?

What is the home page screen now called?
I still get confused with this new software and the old one discontinued some months back.
Back then, we had something call the "Portal."
Then there also was something, wasn't there?, called "Board Index."
But it was different from the "Board Index" with the current software?

I know there are some repairs ongoing now,
but...normally now, what is the homepage screen called?
"Board Index" or "Portal"...?

When the software has all the extensions operating, there is both a Portal and Board index.
Right now though, it's not there because Charlie disabled the extensions.

Quick links works to get you to new and unread posts if that helps.
I use the Portal a lot. Miss it and get all confused when it's not there. :?

I don't always remember to subscribe to threads too but I'm not sure there exists a mechanism in the software to automatically subscribe you to a thread that you've posted to. I'm not sure everyone would want that either but the option if available might be nice.

The home page is now the index page, the one with the recent topics right at the top. People complained about being dumped straight into the portal so I changed it up. Portal is the portal is the portal.

Here's a weird thing I just noticed:
the avatars and stuff are now over on the right side instead of the left...

I had to disable all the extensions today. Thankfully, that fixed the problem we were having. Which is a big sigh of relief because I surely didn't want to go into the weekend with a messed up forum when I have plans. So everything is working well now, and I will slowly introduce the extensions back into the forum. But after I put an extension back, I have to test test test. Make sure things are working right. Then I can move onto the next one. So this might take a day or two or three. Avatars will be moved back to the other side, just give me some time.

Oh btw narouz, check out the posting page. A little surprise for you. I know you have been missing that. Some people complained about it because its a bit more in depth then the regular posting screen. But I really like having the extra options and I know others do too.

You know, I'd never really looked at it carefully,
but now that it seems like the site is returned to normal,
I think I see why I was confused.

We do have a Board Index as the home page.
But--not included in the "tree" visible at the top--
there is Also a little title or label that says "Recent Topics."
But I guess "Recent Topics" doesn't show up in the "Board Index" anywhere?

Also part of my confusion I think:
in the old forum software,
the homepage was the Portal, right?
Here, in the current software, "Board Index" is the homepage
(but oddly, the "Board Index" isn't really the board index, is it? It is, rather, "Recent Topics," right?)

By "tree" I mean, if you look at the top of the screen,
you will see
Portal < Board Index < Misc < Ray Peat Announcements etc
But you don't ever see "Recent Topics" in that tree.
And even though "Portal" is the first item in the tree,
it is not the homepage...

I'm not complaining!
I'm just pointing out some confusing things TO ME,
a programming imbecile.

On the board index, "recent topics" is just put at the top there. It doesnt make it a recent topics page. Its a recent topics box stuck at the top of the index page.

My brain is fried. Long day.
