Thank you. Very interesting, got one of his books. Might be that immorality goes together with serotonin type personality.

“We’ve bought into the idea that education is about training and “success”, defined monetarily, rather than learning to think critically and to challenge. We should not forget that the true purpose of education is to make minds, not careers. A culture that does not grasp the vital interplay between morality and power, which mistakes management techniques for wisdom, which fails to understand that the measure of a civilization is its compassion, not its speed or ability to consume, condemns itself to death.”

That was an amazing video. Reading up and watching more on Chris Hedges, he seems to be doing some pretty admirable work. I remember his name when i was studying up on the Iraq war but hadn't heard much about him

Thank you i realy enjoyed that video. I dislike videos using dramatic music to push me towards feeling a certain way tho. I am confused as to why this specificly says "american", considering how this is a worldwide thing. Just takes other shapes or appearances across different countries.

Many of the things he says did resonate with me alot anyways:

"... attempt to get up and question where we are going and who we are and the critique will be that you are such a pessimist, that you are such a cynic, that you are not an optimist. Optimism becomes a kind of disease it's what created the financial meltdown."

"... the corporate state has made war against critical thinking and in particular humanities because the humanities at their best are about teaching people how to think, rather than what to think. Theyre about teaching people to challenge assumptions and structures"

It always confused me as to why one recieves such a backlash when questioning the premise which society/majority of people consented on being the right one. Especially when i was a child i couldn't realy understand nor deal with this properly. Not saying everything that is being teached is wrong, but many things are.

"... this time we go down, the whole planets going with us."

We know full well how messed up our modern lifestyles and all that comes with it is. Citys are not built, schools are not teaching, food is not produced, infrastructures and enviroments are not optimised to build healthy, thriving individual humans. While i think a utopia is not just wishfull thinking but perhaps a necessity in the future, people jacking off to the current democracy and endless consumeristic capitalism subscribed just to yet another flawed ideology, benefiting thoose accepting and taking advtanage of it knowing full well it builds on the foundation of everyone else having poor life situations as that is how this system works, the only way it can work until it crashes. This at some point advances into a dimension of reckless industrialisaton and endless hunger for consumption that when it crashes, it will take the very basis of life with it.
The saddest thing about it, the majority of people in my pov seem to celebrate the "chance" of being one of a million, and idolize thoose that "made it" regardless of how many corpses had to be burried along the way.

"... totalitarian societies by their nature are hyper masculine cultures and seek to banish empathy. They not only ignore the vulnerable and the weak but ridicule them and persecute them. They celebrate supposed values of force, strength, violence and empathy is seen as weakness. I mean in a free market society all of those companies like goldman sachs would've gone into bankruptcy"

This one hit me the most thus far. Not only are there many things wrong in this world and in our society - pointing thoose out results in one being subject of ridicule, insults and social isolation. It is a open forum i know, but often times im appaled by the amount of "alpha males" or even the woman getting off of thoose "real man" browsing this forum and how they voice their opinions how much of a "*****" or "wimp" someone is for not having this ideal lifestyle of sex every day 3-8 times a day while drinking, smoking, being built like a roid monster and making tons of cash while their at it. And this comes from the very people that know full well that a person detracted from the necessary procceses inside our cells and organs, proper hormone functions and neurotransmitter on top of a horrible foundation that are bad parents and social/emotional enviroments WILL NOT produce NOR PROVIDE the basis for a "confident, strong, selfsustaining, healthy homo sapien". Take any idol you have, damage or remove the basis of their immune system and cell metabolism and you will see a "wimp" which you end up insulting. If you don't then you area a biased hyprocrite and did most likely wrong towards most of thoose that you did insult and ridicule.
I've come to realize that with all the selfoptimisation, all the efforts put in to becoming a better, healthier, stronger person and human being that at some point it might as well not have been one self that was the problem all this time. Even if that is what is constantly told by everyone around one, as it feeds only into the already deep seated, paralyzing selfdoubt, self hated and constant personal critic one has on himself already. The sarcastic, condesending phrase "everyone else is at fault except you" may actually have been the truth for some people all along. Not everything in life is an issue of personality or "not wanting it enough".

Im sorry i got a little deep into my personal pov and im not implying that this is what the person in the video ment to express. Its my interpretation derived from experience and observation.

Enjoyed some of your thoughtful comments except where you trash alpha males. You can be a strong dominant alpha male who is noble and has nothing but a positive effect on the world and others. Strength and dominance is not evil in and of itself and maleness (and femaleness too) should be proudly gloried in.
It's the misuse of strength and dominance as evident in behavior such as cruelty and aggression and mistreatment of others instead of kindness that is dismal and abhorrent. And evil behavior has nothing to do with gender since all genders are capable of evil.

Lets stop trashing good men who happen to be a dominant male which is usually due to baseless misperceived fear and insecurities. Dominance is not evil when and is a great kindness when used for the love , betterment and assistance of others. We survive as a group and levels of dominance will encompass a broad spectrum within the group. Very weak premise judging a group or gender as a whole instead of measuring the nobility or lack thereof of each male individual. Men are most certainly not inherently evil due to gender no matter how much they try to market the notion. It leaves the very young men amongst us feeling somehow dirty and flawed for being born men and the instincts that abound within them for that. What a crime and disservice and pathological psychological manipulation to those young people forcefully raised and indoctrinated to feel that way. And women who choose to be with dominant men are not flawed either. But hopefully they choose a truly good man.

There will always be stronger people, either raise the weaker ones or let them suffer. Also the overly egocentric and self-loathing and generally "needy" or "poor-poor me", they must learn right from the start, and again this is from good parenthood and a masculine society. Masculinity will very much reduce suffering and increase good empathy. Estrogen instead creates the aggressive and whatever else. North America and fatherless men or men with bad fathers will naturally do horrible things to the weaker. Also Primitive people who are living with normal people in a economically alright country will naturally do horrible stuff, with the self-destructive and cruelty being present in large quantities where they settle most, largely after governmental collapse by who... America, or sometimes the Soviet Union via arms deals, but mostly America; again this is for primitive people and the cruelty.
Masculinity will instead eliminate this. Also a society which lives on moral principles such as Buddhism or Orthodox Christianity; and not for example Norse paganism, which was very brutal and very very lacking in empathy or "morality"; will also thrive in this masculine society. North America is very Neurotic, Estrogenic, Lookist and just sickly, very far from masculine; it very much reminds me of aggressiveness being thought as being Androgenic when it is Estrogenic, Testosterone instead makes you calm but very adaptable to challenges and "aggressive" if one for some reason needs to be; the "alpha male" who brings the weaker people down is Sociopathic (and whatever physiological things cause Sociopathy), maybe primitive, maybe lacks a father, although he may be High Test, low Estrogen and maybe "High Dopamine". Less lust is also Androgenic, lust being Estrogenic. A society which is not masculine is current North America, with the even average masculine people maybe being the Sociopathic "alpha male", maybe again they simply lack a father or a natural environment of stress (again, with a father...), in general even the average masculine people dominate there with the very Estrogenic women (when off the pill) generally looking for "hyper masculinity"; although the average masculinity there is something like even below average in a place like Russia, Serbia.
Hyper feminity for both men and women is pure suffering, it is agony, it is living hell; it is a corrupt morality.
And empathy for who? The useless? Especially for the useless by choice. I do think in very masculine "Socialist" type society sometimes the elderly are killed of early, for example in the Soviet Union after 50 medical care was a bit bad, too many doctors and not enough equipment, although I think this is sometimes alright, better to live short full lives then drawn out, dark lives. I would rather live in the Soviet Union to 60 then in America to 80. I can only thing of two words... Serotogenic, Estrogenic. But yeah typically in the USSR you lived till 60 (this is 60s-80s at least period, which means you lived in the good times that is late 50s-1976 [pure heaven]), doesn't sound too bad. Short explosive lives, death isn't as real as it seems :): .

America is hell on earth. Social Marxist things and values... Disgusting! All one can say is F EM, and move to somewhere else before it all collapses. F Angela Merkel. North Europe isn't pretty either. West Europe is getting f'd too.
Central Asia, Russia, Iran, maybe South Korea are looking way more attractive as the time goes on. Russia is the best off by miles. South Korea evidently probably too. Sad most are not that good economically. Mongolia would probably be a good choice if there was an economy, Greece too.

But yes, the suffering of a feminine society is evident... Indeed very poor men, the mental suffering they endure (mostly by themselves, sometimes outside things which kickstart Neuroticism and whatever else) is beyond me. I think they are doomed...

I am not trashing masculinity or "alpha males" (stupid label for something as complex as humans imo) for being masculine or alpha. My issue comes from thoose trying or acting to be masculine or strong by exploiting others weaknesses, ridiculing and insulting them. The majority of people that are percieved strong and masculine are easily 70-90% ***holes disguised as such. Ofcourse this highly depends by how we measure and judge people, which is very subjective and i am aware that i judge very harshly. The genuinely strong and kind people are thoose i would never ever think of labeling as a "alpha male".

The point i tryed to make is that there is alot of personal blaming even tho in some cases it was not the fault of the individual in the first place. Even more ridiclious we put these expactations on to kids who are in the very process of having no idea and needing to learn literally everything. It is hard to explain and i think many don't see it.
And my "rant" up there came from many people on this forum who DO KNOW BETTER, yet i see them being totall asshats towards a suffering person they've never met nor have ever spoken to. But that does not matter does it? Only results matter. The 30 year old virgin is just a plain looser and should already go and kill himself right? (that sarcasm is not directed towards you personally, just trying to get my point across)

Strength and dominance is not evil in and of itself and maleness (and femaleness too) should be proudly gloried in.

There was no intention from me to imply that. I agree with that and my post comes from a bitter place and may be interpreted other than i intented it to.

I have yet to meet a strong and succesful person (men or woman) that is what you describe here. Usually some of thoose positive attributes come with a psychopathic form of selfishness, exploitation and disrespective behaviour in some way or form towards others, mistakenly percieved as being a "man" or being "dominant" ... no they are just huge dicks and get away with it due to their surroundings letting them, because the people around are incapable themself or raised up in an enviroment where they think thats ok or normal. Learned helplessnes is a term i learned here and it is so real. The problem is that actually genuine good and kind people are often either submissive due to the way they were raised or they just lack confidence by w/e mechanisms that are capable of influencing it, which makes it difficult to be able to stand up to the douchebags.

There is no issue with wanting a good, competend and capable men as a woman. Hell, we all want to be that kind of person. And we idealy want to have a partner like that too. I agree with you here. The most attractive woman to me are not just pretty or sexy by whatever modern culture i've been influenced by as a kid/teenager, but thoose actually being capable, strong, confident and kind. I think thoose are desirable attributes in general and who we see/percieve as such is very subjective.

When i've good sex or if i come from a good workout or if i managed something that i am proud of or was able to take the weel and help the people around me, the feeling that arrives makes me feel so right and so good and its the one i would describe as feeling "manly, competend, confident and capable". And this is the good kind of mascuilinty which i assume you two are refering to.

Alot of woman compensate their own lack of competence and personality as a person by being the pretty trophy and unfortunately get rewarded for it with attention, money and " male provided security". And as the desired object of a basic need we have as a men they get away with it to often. Ask the unattractive woman, they suffer realy bad just as the so called "simps" or "nice guys" do, maybe even worse. Wierd labels for complex mechanisms and storys which one can't even fathom to understand in its entirety, let alone its origin.

I have no issue with a woman choosing a ideal mate. I take issue with woman having no idea about what it is to be a man or growing up as one and being a insulting smartass about it towards thoose very men struggling and putting real, honest, soul crushing effort into becoming it while they ride into a sunset with a "alpha male" that ends up leaving her to be a single mother raising a child in poverty, the very guy who exploited her subconsciouss attraction towards him. This is the kind of woman and "alpha male" i happily trash because their behaviour is insanely disrespectfull. They lack empathy for the people not meeting their success expectations and they lack it towards the very people they interact and depend on. The same people that cry and yell for empathy and help when its not "coming to them naturally" anymore and they hit the very very bottom. I don't get why we as collective haven't yet managed to build a healthier/empathic mainstream behaviour and why do we make so many stupid or evil people rich and famous?

Estrogenic types are the aggresive ones? From what i observed in my life up till now i can't agree with that. I think there are people with alot of testosterone that are calm and kind while there are others that are batshit aggressive and manipulative. I doubt its that easily explained.

I don't take issue with there being strong people taking over the wheel. Im grateful we have thoose. "They must learn right from the start" sounds to me like you would leave the child in the woods without training and direction to survive and if it didn't come back alive after a week it was to "weak". I know im exxagerating but not every person thrives with this sort of approach. Not everyone can build confidence and "masculinity" by this form of parenting/education.

Perhaps the issue from my text comes from my definition/understanding of the term alpha male. For me its a negative label for being a aggressive, exploitive douche. Its a term we use for animals living in packs with a leader but lost its meaning by mainstream jerking of the ego's of inhumane jocks.

Lack of empathy is a huge issue in our society, your questions frighten me. Its not feministic to be empathic. Sadly even the woman think so. Empathy and kindness can quickly be percieved as weakness and one recieves the negative nice guy label very fast. I worked for 5-6 years with an woman whos in her 50s whos a diehard feminist. It took me some time to realize the toxicity and "enslavement" towards masculinity/men that comes with feminism.

Who or what defines wether or not a person is "useless"? The Leaders of our society? The money one makes? The job one does? Being useless by choice is "diagnosed" far to quickly or comes as the most easiest explanation. Most who appear to be that are not i think.

One wouldn't complain if there was no desire for it to be different. The question is why, why don't they get up and change it. Where and what is the blockage? And there is one. The same way there is a reason why someone developse cancer or hair loss. Especially the people on this very forum know how endotoxins, parasites, drugs or w/e can ruin your life on this planet real quickly real bad and believe it or not but it may be the very thing that caused the creation of the "helpless wimp" in the first place.

There is always emotional strength to be needed to get out of a bad habit or dark place but it is not the only factor that puts or keeps a person there. Thoose who are born or forced into it perhaps didn't have a choice and it is unrealistic to believe that everyone has a choice or that sheer will power will solve it, even if a motivational youtube video yelling hyper masculine, over the top optimistic quotes at you trying to convince one to feel/think like it does.
"If the hope or optimism is not rooted in reality then it is just fantasy." The very thing this chris guy says in the video.

Read your response carefully and appreciate you took the time to share further. Hard to know what a person is about from just one posted comment. I speculate we are probably closer in these matters than I thought. Sorry you haven't been impressed by the strong males you were exposed to. I have had the opposite experience. I have had the good fortune to meet a huge number of truly great and inspirational men who's examples I will always be grateful for beginning with, but not limited to, my own great father Robert L. Blais (Blaze) whom I miss terribly each and every day. I grew up in New York here in the USA and there are still many kind, courageous, strong and highly intelligent dominant alpha men around in America setting the right kind of example. And, unfortunately, their unimpressive toxic counterparts I have also met. Balance of the universe / yin yang dualism thing I suppose. For every good thing exists it's opposite negative thing.

Again, my paramount concern is that we are indoctrinating and forcing a false philosophic viewpoint of how bad men are by their very nature thus making young men amongst us feeling somehow dirty and flawed for being born men and ashamed for the instincts that abound within them. It has become popular to assign the Alpha male toxic masculinity moniker broadly to apply to the entire gender.(I agree wholeheartedly with your remark Ben-"stupid label for something as complex as humans imo") There is no love or kindness involved in the character assassination of an entire gender of all races based in totality on their inherent dominant tendencies alone. Simply criminal to do so. I also lived in Mexico as well as the USA for years and met many great examples of strong men in Mexico as well. So Goblins remark that North America which encompasses Canada, the USA and Mexico and that additionally he specifically stated America is hell on earth, full of Social Marxist things and values and lacking Dominant men-----I will offer him respectful but solid disagreement. Goblin is certainly not wrong that the fabric of our North American society currently has some grave and huge disturbing social issues and marxist leanings. He inferred we are doomed....may history as it unfolds prove him incorrect - I indeed harbor some hope still.

Good tendencies I have seen in dominant men and strive to emulate:

Bravery , standing up for the weak regardless of risk to one's self
Kindness , when others gang up and insult or injure - be a leader not a follower -be the the one to strongly oppose that behavior
Protectiveness , do what you can to stop harm from coming to others
Mercy, do not react to every insult or challenge made to you - pick your battles carefully
Never ever ever ever misuse your physical power, use measured force and only for good. Unfortunately others seem to only respect sheer physical power and constantly abuse that gift. This is one of the things feeding the hatred of dominant males (the bad dominant males, that is----weak and domineering and insecure in every aspect of masculinity except their ability to intimidate and do harm).
Love - no explanation needed. We all know what that looks like.
Leadership-inspire good behavior in others. Hold them and yourself to a high standard.
Humility- probably the most important trait of all except maybe love.

Summary- You may feel terribly alone in your efforts but even so be a bold dominant alpha force for good in this (albeit short) existence. Fear is and always will be your one and only true enemy in this existence. So be unafraid. Make a difference where you can.

Loving others that love us---very unimpressive. We all do that already.
Loving those who are evil or hate us or disagree with us---try that-------very impressive and frustrating and very difficult to do. Vast possible rewards though.

SSRI and the way they modify thinking and behavior are a key component in keeping the current system afloat. They shift the victim towards psychopathy and sometimes make them able to again participate in a psychotic society. No wonder 20% of the adult population is on them.

Thank you for this post. This resonates very well with me. I came across a fair share of woman demonizing men and project all evil and wrong towards the gender. You articulated this far better than i could.

I often times think back on situations and regret for not being capable of these things when they were necessary. The strong leader opposing the obvious wrong behaviour. Being more proactive and protective towards the people around you that need it. This requires strength, bravery and energy .. sometimes i wish i could get a restart in this game we call "life".
