alternatives to dental x rays

I need to get my wisdom teeth looked at and only way I'm being told is xrays. Anyone know of alternatives?

I'm not sure if it differs for wisdom teeth but when I requested no x-rays last major checkup, they just looked really thoroughly with one of those oral cameras. I assume they want to look at the roots? Decide for yourself how important that is.

I think Peat mentioned that DHEA helps wisdom teeth to move back into position.
