Alternative To Chewing Gum, That Is Natural

As the title says, I got lots of problems when eating chewing gum from the stores (laxative), was wondering what the alternatives are... not really interested in making my own chewing gum or so.
Is there something I can chew on that has the similar texture when chewing?
