my partner has been on Duloxetine (Cymbalta) and Aripiprazole (Abilify) for about 3 years and is trying to ween off them. the main issues theyve been experiencing lately are: overall fatigue, frequent headaches (every other day to varying degrees), dizziness, and anhedonia. theyve also been on a Kyleena IUD for 6 months, releasing the synthetic progestin, and had an iron infusion around the same time due to severe anemia (which they did not know they had or how they got it). theyve suffered iterations of anxiety-panic-depression over the years, as well as being diagnosed with fibromyalgia in their teens (the height of the pains). some of the most effective treatments have been marijuana (frequently) and LSD (few and far between, the most recent dose 2 years ago, but their mood improved for months after taking it).

I am new to the Dr. Peat and their research, and an outsider to much of what is being discussed here, but am highly skeptical and critical of western reductivist medicine and big pharma as a solution. Im looking to help my partner (and myself as well!) feel better overall and shift away from food sources/healthcare that are likely causing more harm than good (or at least not addressing the overall problem), in spite of constantly being insisted its the norm. while looking for alternative possibilities, I found this forum, and became interested in what folks were saying. Im not a specialist, and alot of whats being expressed on the forum is outside my range (I dont have a foundational knowledge of biology/chemistry/nutrition/or even the sciences writ large), but I am very open to advice and suggestions on the above issues.

perhaps the current Covid spread is also leading me here, as I feel my partner could be more susceptible to not only getting it, but having harsher effects from it due to possible immune deficiency.

thanks to anyone for reading/responding,,,

Does your partner have a diagnosis from a psychiatrist? If so, does it include schizophrenia or schizo-affective disorder? If not, why is your partner on Abilify? Sorry for all of the questions, but it might help you get some more targeted recommendations here.
