Hi all - I've been slowly adopting the Peat lifestyle for a few months now and have a question I was hoping someone could help me with.
Back in December 2009 I had a thyroidectomy due to thyroid cancer. It had not spread anywhere else in my body as far as we could tell.
I have a lot of questions really, but I'd like to start with this: everything I read on this forum, and in Peat's articles - anywhere really - is aimed at people who obviously are still operating with their intact thyroid gland - as it should, that's the majority of people - but I find it hard to distinguish what information applies to me in my particular circumstance.
For example, do I need to worry about a particular food or substance that is"anti-thyroid" - does that not apply to me?
If coconut oil is pro-thyroid, do I not get the benefits others would? Specifically relating to the thyroid.
I'm just using general sort of examples here, but does that make sense? What uniquely applies to me?
I'm not sure if anyone can answer this, but any help would be much appreciated.
BTW I love this forum!! Thanks everyone.
