LoL @ the Hitler fanboys that try so hard to defend Hitler's "name".

Hitler's reputation has already been in the gutter with him being a co-leader in the Holocaust and trying to kill entire groups of people that were considered "undesirables" or "inferiors", speculation about his sexuality and private life won't affect his reputation significantly either way because it is already abysmal with people that aren't completely disconnected with reality. But it does reveal some interesting things about the people that try so hard to defend him on this forum: That the Ray Peat Forum attracts all kinds of wacky people and this thread is drawing fascist types and Nazi-sympathizers who defend Adolf Hitler and his ilk.

Many people come to this forum and stay because they realise the "truth" that they've been fed about health and other subjects, is not the whole truth and often has significant omissions, and in other cases is outright lies. Look at the case of Ancel Keys with his vilification of saturated fats in heart disease. Just omit the data that doesn't fit your narrative and feed your beautifully crafted narrative to a system that doesn't ask enough questions.

The same could be true for Hitler. What makes you think we have the whole truth about him? We have all been fed a carefully crafted narrative that suits a particular agenda. I don't agree with many of his actions, but I'm not naive enough to think we know all the facts.

I think he will always have defenders and draw sympathisers because of his stance against the Jews and the Communist agitators in pre-WW II Germany (many of whom were Jews) and the direction they were trying to take that society. Do I agree with the way he handled it? NO. I DO NOT. But was he wrong for wanting to make Germany a better place for its people and rid it of some of the Marxist/Communist movements that were trying to take it in another direction? The same is happening on the streets of the USA at present. You have crazy people that won't be reasoned with and refuse to operate through the normal political process and want to hijack it and seize power to re-shape the nation in the image they feel it should be. What do you do with people like that? How do you appease them? How do you reason with them? They got their way in Russia and look what happened. They didn't get their way in Germany but that was only because of the rise of Hitler.

The Soviets defeated fascist Germany in WWII and sacrificed a great deal for it. We can hem and haw all day along which political systems worked best then, but the Soviets would not have been the Soviet Union had it not been for socialism and collectivization and America and its allies could've lost the war. So, as much as you may claim to hate communism, even though what you're really describing is neo-liberal identity politics, America and Europe would probably be overrun by fascism and Nazis right now had it not been for the goal of communism. Same thing with China, which helped America and its European allies in WII as well. Had China not been socialist they may have been more aligned with fascism and thus allied with Japan and Germany and we wouldn't be on the RPForum because it would be a very different world most likely. Personally though I may have disagreements with some of the politics of China and Russia today (just as I do about the US gov't's politics), I have a great deal of respect that they and other countries in the Eastern bloc were America's allies in WWII. They do not need to be our enemies as they are often unfairly portrayed in the media as such.

As for people wanting to understand the truth about the Holocaust in the case of there potentially being discrepancies in details reported, I don't really have a problem with impartial investigation, I was more talking about the sycophants.

Do you think that this kind of selection by culture or ethnicity would be ok in any other case?

I think the functional question is, was he/she writing about "Jewish" topics? If so, its a sensible label. I suppose if you were part of a Jewish organization of some kind being asked to help, that might also make sense. Or if you are Jewish the assumption might be that you would like to help a fellow Jew. Otherwise, yes, It seems dubious to ask you to help "a Jewish writer" instead of "a writer".

Why did they use valuable resources in the midst of the war to design and construct buildings to kill them with rat poison instead of just executing them with a 9mm bullet through their head (the most economical option)? Wouldn't make for such a good horror story, I guess.
