A Saturated Fatty Acid (caprylic) Can Obliterate Tumors (in-vivo) In Just Hours

I posted a few studies on the anti-tumor effects of saturated fatty acids (SFA). However, they were all in-vitro studies and as such do not carry as much weight as studies on living organisms. In addition, a few of my doctor friends I have discussed this with kept insisting that even if SFA were to have an anti-tumor effects in vivo they are probably cytotoxic to normal tissue and cannot be clinically used. The fact that most approved cancer drugs are also cytotoxic if of course conveniently ignored.
Anyways, this study below was done on both mice and rats and as such carries even more weight as it spans different species. As you can see, a relative low dose of caprylic acid (HED was 5g - 10g, used just twice in a single day) was able to obliterate most of the studied tumors if they were small/medium in size, and the ones that it did not obliterate were greatly inhibited. Perhaps just as importantly, caprilyc acid did not have any toxic effects on normal tissues. Coconut oil contains 6%-10% caprylic acid, so that is probably the best dietary source to replicate the design of this study.

Tumors in mice treated once daily from the fourth to eighth day after implantation were obliterated. Fatty acids can cause lysis of tumor cells with little damage to normal tissue in certain situations. This action is not related to mitotic activity and represents a novel mode of antitumor action."

In addition, here is another in vitro study showing robust inhibiting effects of caprylic, capric and caproc acids against breast, skin (melanoma) and brain cancers. The concentration used was in the range 0.6mM/: up to 3mM/L, which means in vivo human doses of 6g - 20g would be needed to replicate these effects. Quite doable with a 1-3 tbsp. of MCT.

So to apply this just eat some coconut oil and apply to skin?

Well, to get to 5g-10g of caprylic acid you may need 50g - 100g coconut oil. These amounts are probably not needed by most people but for somebody with a serious issue I think it would be doable as it means just eating 30g coconut oil with every meal. For tumors close to the surface they just rubbed the equivalent of a few grams of caprylic acid on the skin, so it could be doable with topical coconut oil. Other than that, Peat said that as little as 1tsp. coconut oil may be enough for prevention of cancer and CVD.

I think probably Defibron would work as well.

Interestingly also a very antifungal substance. Some people believe fungus is a cause of cancer

That’s a lot of coconut oil. It’s more expensive than coconut oil, but why not use just pure C8? Brain Octane Oil - 16 oz.

You can. After posting the study I saw a few sources online say that most MCT products sold in stores are predominantly C8. Not sure why, maybe (ironically) it is the cheapest to extract from the oil. Either way, it is a win-win for all of us (if true).

also available on Amazon as capsules or liquids for coffee or direct ingestion. not expensive.

As Mito suggested and I followed up on this, most MCT products in stores seem to be predominantly caprylic acid. So, no need to buy isolated and expensive caprylic acid products.

Yep, and antiviral, antibacterial, and antiparasitic (worm). Pretty good substance all-around.

I get the runs from consuming even a teaspoon of MCT oil but do fine with coconut oil. Does anyone else have this problem with MCT oil? Is it just a matter of starting with a teeny amount and then very slowly increasing daily consumption?

My gut may be more messed up than I think because it's not just MCT oil that disturbs it. I cannot drink any raw milk without getting the farts. I drink a cup daily anyway and am waiting to overcome this. Long time and still waiting. However, years ago I drank raw milk in large quantity with no problem. Then went low carb high protein and fat, screwed everything up. Found Ray Peat's work and have been trying to get back to Milk Heaven ever since.

Whenever I take Caprylic acid internally, it irritates my digestive tract and gives me horrible headaches. But I use it topically for lots of things.

I tried out Asprey's Brain Octane. I will say that there is a marked difference in how it feels verse plain coconut oil. It seems to offer some anti-anxiety effects in me. Chills me out, makes thinking easier too.

how did you use it - topical or oral, and how much?

I just got another brand that is supposed to be 100% caprylic acid

I used about a capful...hmm not helpful, maybe like a bit more then a teaspoon. I used that three times a day. I took it orally, so drinking it.

what do you think of products like bulletproof brain octane oil which is only Caprylic acid c8 chain?
