Young Peat must've been fascinating in a different way than older Peat is.

"Peat explained that he originally established Blake College in Mexico because of economic considerations and because some of the aspects of education in which he was interested could be studied only in a foreign country."

My favorite part was where the anti-prayer in the public schools zealot
kinduv sought refuge at Blake with her teenaged son.
Peat was dating this young hipster named Daphne Stange.
All this according to the author (see above).

Daphne started smoking the great pot of the teenaged son,
and, perhaps more.
The author describes this Daphne as "slightly zaftig" or something like that.

Then the anti-prayer woman started dating a CIA plant,
Hooverishly checking up on foreigners in Mexico in the early '60's.
This weird couple led to the downfall of Blake.

Peat comes across as an innocent bystander,
side-swiped by this strange crossing of paths.

The name of the book is "UnGodly," I believe.
I bought it when I first started getting into Peat.

The book is not a work of art.
But, it has the feel of being somewhat true.

Later, the anti-prayer woman gets murdered and dismembered. Some sort of weird karmic justice, I suppose.

I wonder what Peat reaction was when he learned that.

Thank God, he escaped alive from Mexico.
