Felines have ACE2-receptors. The tiger was patient 0 back in 2003. Roy killed by a transmitted but dormant virus from back then.
Maybe as you say, the tiger was infected with 2003‘ SARS1 and the virus mutated in Roy to become Cov2. Then Roy is patient 0. Nothing is impossible with these viruses, ask your local senator .
