Patent CA2156481C - 5-ht2 receptor antagonist compositions useful in treating venous conditions
Hi I was googling "5ht2 varicose" and came across the above site which is an application for a patent using 5ht2 receptor antagonists to treat varicose veins, hemorrhoids etc. This is of great interest to be as I am a male who has varicose veins on the left leg and left testicle (varicocele).
"ABSTRACT
Treatment of compositions containing 5-HT2 receptor antagonists useful in treating such venous conditions as hemorrhoids, varicose veins, venous insufficiency and wounds. In particular it comprises use of a 5-hydroxytryptamine-2 receptor antagonist (5-HT2) at an effective therapeutic dose to treat a human or animal suffering from such a condition.
The 5-HT2 receptor antagonist can also be administered prophylactically."
Would be interested in any input on this and whether anyone has noticed an improvement in these conditions with 5ht2 antagonists?
