I found palm kernel oil flakes and another product called paramount crystals which is processed and hydrogenated palm oil. The problem with the latter is that it comes with soy lecithin, off setting the fact that its so cheap and accesible.

The palm kernel oil flakes is similar to coconut oil in fatty acids. 2.3% linoleate. Less unsaturated than butter if memory serves. Commonly used for soap making but not hydrogenated. 102 degree melting point

processing quality remains to be seen

The paramount crystals are used in candy making, so definitely food grade

the soy lecithin remains a mystery to me

I've heard Peat say that most soy lecithin is rancid.
We generally avoid it.
