Why Do Hypothyroid Parents Get Hypothyroid Children?

I have just started to read Broda Barnes book, hypothyroidism the unsuspected illness.

He says that females and males who are hypothyroid tend to have children together. Beacuse they have the same energy and motivation.

Why do hypothyroid parents get hypothyroid children? Can you stop the trend if parents increase their thyroid? Or is it only the mother that need a better thyroid?

As a side note: before antibiotics 10% was hypothyroid. Because hypothyroid children tended to die from infections. After antibiotics 40% of the population was hypothyroid.

Not saying you're wrong, but do you have a source for the claim? Would be helpful to document all of these historical quirks, ditto for the revisal of medical values (like the normal range for prolactin being revised up because otherwise everyone would have tested high)
