Richard Alpert - The LSD Crisis

That's Ram Das. For more on him, I'd checkout the book "Saints and Psychopaths" ;)
How many of the 60s so-called hippies and pro-drug culture folks were CIA & government shills? Peat glossing over these well substantiated drug culture plots is suspicious. The idea that the intelligence operations were all just stupid ("Men Who Stare at Goats" is counterintelligence) and had no idea how to control people using psychedelics is unsubstantiated too. I've not seem good explanations for the physiology of an acid trip. The Chinese know that it spends your Jing - and this is consistent & easy to detect by anyone qualified in Chinese medicine. It also seems to increase metabolism a lot more than other LSD-derivatives. However studies like, "Psychedelics and the Human Receptorome" don't seem to quantify mechanisms that are consistent with experience of the classified compounds.

I think they're illegal because it was a orchestrated move by various intelligence agencies to indoctrinate the youth in this new age drug counterculture. Timothy Leary, the man who made DMT famous practically speaking, was working with the CIA at the time. Making a country docile and drugged up is a huge advantage to the global elites. It's not about being anti-drug either, I think they should be decriminalized personally, but it's about the package deal that comes with the drug culture. Once you're deep into drug culture, then the socialism indoctrination is dropped on you, and more times then not you buy into it. What do you think the baby boomer hippy movement was about? Drugs, sex, and socialism baby! Free thinking drug users are another story, but you don't see many of them, and it also brings up the question are they productive members of society or not.

I've thought about this as well. It really is quite strange as he seems to be very much aware of the CIA and their programs in general.

Since I tried mushrooms for the first time, I feel like it's absolutely a crime against humanity that they're illegal. But it is what it is. It's apparently not difficult to legally obtain the materials to make them yourself (the spores are legal), but it isn't something I would risk personally.

I've never tried LSD, but I have a friend who has and he is only interested in mushrooms. Everyone I've asked who's done both have always said they're very different experiences. There could be something to the fact that they've been on earth for god knows how long, and LSD is synthetic and only recently invented by man.

I don't have any experience with that though, so it's whatever. As for why they're illegal, I don't know. Probably something sinister ;)
