I was wondering if any of you have some tips on how to minimize the effects of acid and sugar from fruit on teeth?

I can usually swish ice cold water around my teeth but if I've eaten fruit or drank juice I notice my teeth become very sensitive, even becoming sensitive to starches like potatoes.

This morning I noticed when I swished some salty water around my mouth it seemed to be drawing some sweetness out from around my teeth, I wonder whether this would help to neutralize the acid/sugars? I guess using a straw would be good practice too.

In all honesty, I can't help but have some doubts whether something that can be so bad for my teeth can be good to have a lot of on a daily basis.
