There seems to be a consensus here that stress can lead to head and body hair loss. Do we know if the converse is true? Can removing head and body hair (getting a haircut; shaving the head, face, and body) stress the body?

I'm less interested in the mechanical aspects of household appliances like electric shavers and hair clippers, as Ray seems to comment on that here:

I'm more interested in the effects of simply having less total volume of head and body hair. Like, say, a buzz cut and a clean military shave versus a rugged man bun and beard (men).

Furthermore, do we know Ray's view on the role of hair in the human body generally? There are many theories online, even just in the Hair Wikipedia page (Hair - Wikipedia). But I'm curious if Ray has a unique take here.
