  • Hugh Johnson: Humans have a prefrontal cortex, and by using them we are capable of making ecosystems more productive, diverse and resilient while feeding ourselves Oct 20, 2017 at 7:16 AM
    • Hugh Johnson: Both for humans and other living beings. Oct 20, 2017 at 7:15 AM
      • Hugh Johnson: more than that. I want my food to be produced in way that makes the world richer Oct 20, 2017 at 7:15 AM
        • pimpnamedraypeat: Not factory farming or slaughterhouses Oct 19, 2017 at 5:50 PM
          • pimpnamedraypeat: I think what you want is painless death and a fulfilling life for ur food Oct 19, 2017 at 5:50 PM
            • pimpnamedraypeat: Death eater Oct 19, 2017 at 5:49 PM
              • BemusedObserver: yea, you are so right in putting it that way, I guess it's just a matter of accepting what this all is and being okay with it I suppose... Oct 19, 2017 at 2:09 PM
                • BemusedObserver: Hey thanks! That's totally okay, it's nice to experience people in their rawness...I'm learning to not be so sensitive and emotionally weak, so I welcome "rudeness" "negativity" and all these things we perceive and experience as negative and rejecting...it creates an opportunity to work on building SKILLZ Oct 19, 2017 at 2:07 PM
                  • Hugh Johnson: You live off the death of other beings, and they will life off of yours. Oct 19, 2017 at 11:52 AM
                    • Hugh Johnson: Anyway, death feeds all life. Oct 19, 2017 at 11:50 AM
                      • Hugh Johnson: In hindsight, that was a bit rude. Sorry. Oct 19, 2017 at 11:50 AM
                        • BemusedObserver: I hear you about being a predator, I know we aren't too far removed from our past. I just wish there was a better way, Oct 19, 2017 at 10:56 AM
                          • BemusedObserver: Yea, I realize that's our history, I am just wondering if we are at a point in our evolution to where we can use our intellect and tools to create food and food sources that don't necessarily involve taking life or harming the environment. Or at the very least, minimize the impact we create... Oct 19, 2017 at 10:54 AM
                            • Hugh Johnson: Grow up. You are a predator. Predator kills and eats things. Not that I defend the current system. Oct 19, 2017 at 3:52 AM
                              • BemusedObserver: I guess if we just do the very best we can do with the tools we have and find some sort of balance in this chaos, then that's all we can do right? Drives me nuts Oct 18, 2017 at 4:12 PM
                                • BemusedObserver: I can't wait until we get to a point to where all of nutrient needs can be met without taking a life. Or maybe I'll have to adjust my perspective on this, because it seems to be the nature of life here, here on Earth at least.. Oct 18, 2017 at 3:59 PM
                                  • BemusedObserver: yea I seen that thread and it has great tips to start, yep I figured Gelatin would be a major issue - I know there is a veggie alternative "gelatin" made from carrageenan (seaweed I think?), but i've heard some pretty bad stuff on the chemicals they use to extract it Oct 18, 2017 at 3:58 PM
                                    • Hugh Johnson: Gelatin is a byproduct anyway. Oct 18, 2017 at 3:32 PM
                                      • Hugh Johnson: Can be done. Though you might consider cheating a bit with gelatin. Oct 18, 2017 at 3:32 PM
                                        • Hugh Johnson: there was a thread about is by some dude who asked Peat advice Oct 18, 2017 at 3:32 PM
                                          • BemusedObserver: realized I left out alot there, but you get it. Oct 18, 2017 at 1:43 PM
                                            • BemusedObserver: The Ethical reasons were my primary reason, but i've since learned that the dairy industry is rumored to be just as cruel to the animals and facilities destroy the environment just like cow farms. Same with growing vegetables and the sad dark underbelly of illegal workers and water usage...I guess we all have blood on our hands, in all ways we live our modern consumer driven lives. What a bummer Oct 18, 2017 at 1:42 PM
                                              • BemusedObserver: anyone here a vegetarian? I am recovering, and upon getting healthy again, I would like to transition back to vegetarianism ...was wondering what the best nutritional plan/approach would be. Oct 18, 2017 at 1:24 PM

                                                                                  • Waynish: Well of course they have other interactions... The reason why Peat and many on this forum put "receptor" in quotes is the same reason we should consider categorizing molecules by a lot more than one of their properties. Oct 16, 2017 at 3:17 AM
                                                                                    • Waynish: For starters I can't think of an effect I got from Lisuride, for example, that wasn't more pronounced on LSD. Furthermore, the quantity of LSD can be significantly lower. Oct 16, 2017 at 3:14 AM
                                                                                      • pimpnamedraypeat: what difference have you observed. Perhaps they had other interactions beside serotonin Oct 15, 2017 at 11:46 PM
                                                                                        • Waynish: Haven taken so many serotonin agonists and feeling how different they are, I think we need more accurate descriptions of the molecules than just "agonists" Oct 15, 2017 at 11:16 PM
                                                                                          • Waynish: @BemusedObserver do you get gas from it? I certainly do. Oct 15, 2017 at 11:14 PM

Its nice to not have to worry about PUFA's in relation to the LSD. Oct 15, 2017 at 9:30 PM
